eMDnow Telemedicine Case Study

eMDnow provides virtual care for veterans living in Jacksonville, FL so the community can get timely care without having to drive two hours to the closest VA Hospital, which is often understaffed and has long wait times. Veterans can access care online, through a mobile app, or walk into a small clinic in a pharmacy.

How Telemedicine is Deployed

eMDNow utilizes Eko Windows Software paired a with Live Streaming License, running side-by-side the Zoom video conference. Separating the Zoom video and the live stream audio ensures superior stethoscope audio and allows the consulting MD to follow along with the visit as the patient is being assessed.

eMDnow’s telemedicine deployment includes:

  • eMDnow Healthcare on Demand App
  • Zoom Video Conference
  • Telemedicine interchangeable scope for ear/nose/throat, dermatology, and ophthalmology
  • Eko CORE Digital Stethoscope
  • Eko Software for Windows
  • Eko Live Stream License

Outcome

Using mobile and web-based telemedicine technology eMDnow is able to support the community with a number of health services including:

  • Virtual consultations
  • Walk-in clinics
  • Prescription refills
  • Diagnostic and lab services
  • Women’s services
  • Vaccines

It’s important for our patients to know that we are veterans caring for veterans. There are a lot of people in the community of Northwest Jacksonville who don’t have access to health care. Not only do they not have a medical home, they don’t even have insurance, or if they do, they have Medicaid, which a lot of providers don’t accept because the reimbursement rate is horrible.
