Eko Launches the First Android-connected Digital Stethoscope
San Francisco, CA — Eko, a San Francisco-based digital health company, has released a new Android app that is compatible with the FDA-cleared Eko Digital Stethoscope. Using the Eko Mobile Application for Android, millions of clinicians around the world can now sync their trusty Android device with their equally trusty stethoscope.
The Eko Digital Stethoscope is the first to amplify 40X and wirelessly stream heart and lung sounds to a secure mobile app. The device received Class II FDA-clearance and launched the iOS compatibility in 2015. Now, all clinicians using Android — from medical students to pediatric cardiologists — can also experience Eko’s next-generation stethoscope.
The Eko Digital Stethoscope can be purchased on Eko’s website for $299. Clinicians in-love with their existing analog stethoscope can digitize the stethoscope they already own with the Eko Digital Attachment (available for $199). The Eko Digital Attachment is the first digital to analog stethoscope converter on the market designed to digitize popular stethoscopes. Both the Eko Digital Attachment and Eko Digital Stethoscope provide clinicians with key digital features such as 40X sound amplification, background noise reduction, free mobile software, sharing, and saving.
The Eko Digital Stethoscope is used by clinicians at over 400 hospitals and health systems across the United States from NYU Langone to Stanford University.
“This is the most advanced but at the same time easiest to use digital stethoscope on the market. It is inexpensive, easy to use, secure and of the best quality of any device we have encountered. It is light, compact, works with my current stethoscope and the Bluetooth pairing with my phone is easy and fast.”
– Dr. Nicholas B. Slamon, Pediatric Critical Care, Nemours Children’s Health System
The Eko Mobile Application for Android is now available for download from the Google Play Store. It is compatible with Android devices featuring Android 5.0 Lollipop and above and supporting Bluetooth 4.0.
